After an empowering and successful Day of Silence in school, ALL GSAs in Maryland are invited to join GLSEN Baltimore to BREAK THE SILENCE together! We will gather at the YNot Lot in Baltimore, decorate signs, take pictures, connect with each other, and then scream at the top of our lungs to break our silence. Students are invited to share stories and make their experiences known. We will urge our school and government leaders to BREAK THEIR SILENCE when it comes to protecting LGBTQ youth, particularly transgender and gender diverse youth.
Day of Silence 2017 takes place on April 21, 2017. The GLSEN Day of Silence is a student-led day of action which takes place in schools across the country. Students stay silent for an entire school day to call attention to the silencing effect harassment has on LGBTQ youth.
Here in Maryland, GSAs across the state participate in the Day of Silence. For more information about how your school can organize actions for the Day of Silence, visit this resource-packed website: glsen.org/day-of-silence.
