«Raise a Flag, Salute a Vet!» May 26-29 at the 1,000-flag Field of Honor presented by Hubbard Funeral Home and hosted by Charlestown retirement community.

WHEN: May 26 — May 29
WHERE: Charlestown Retirement Community
COST: Free. You are encouraged to sponsor a flag in honor of a loved one who has served.

The public is invited to the Friday night, May 26 (7:30 p.m.) Opening Ceremony of the 1,000-flag Charlestown Field of Honor presented by Hubbard Funeral Home. Fireworks will follow the ceremony.

This Memorial Day Weekend display will be open to the public through Monday, May 29, on the Charlestown campus, 715 Maiden Choice Lane. Net proceeds from sponsorship of flags will benefit local veterans organizations year-round.

Opening Ceremony Itinerary:

Prelude: 229th Army Band, Maryland Army National Guard

Welcome: Daniel Simons, Event Chairman, Hubbard Funeral Home

Invocation: Most Reverend Mark Brennan, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Baltimore

Raising of the Colors, Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Honor Guard
