In this 4 session class series we will explore the fundamental techniques, practices and philosophies of Yoga. Yoga is more than just stretching the body and these classes we will delve into the physical practice, as well as, the internal practices of Yoga through breath, contemplation and meditation. This class will build a solid foundation to begin your journey into Yoga practice!
If you have never practiced Yoga before, have been away from practice and want a fresh re-start, or have been practicing for a while and want to revisit the basics this is the class for you.
In this series you will:
— Briefly examine Yoga history & Philosophy
— Gain an understanding of all the Asana (Postures) families
— Study modifications of postures to meet your body where it's at
— Review the benefits of Yoga practices
— Learn about body alignment and bodily actions involved with practice
— Explore your personal breathing style and Pranayama (Breath) practices
— Practice the basics of mindfulness meditation
— Experience Deep Relaxation and learn just how important it is
