The Gertude S. Williams Speaker Series is back for its first installment of 2018! This event will be discussing the connections between art and activism. Our featured speaker is Bilphena Yahwon, a Baltimore-based writer and social justice advocate born in West Africa and raised in the Ivory Coast.
Ms. Yahwon is the owner and curator of goldwomyn.com, author of «Teaching Goldmah How to Heal Herself» and Creative Director at Broken English Co. Her writing includes her experiences as an immigrant, blackness, healing, and African women made from flowers.
This event is always free, but donations are welcome! Doors open at 6:30 and the event will take place from 7-8:30pm on Monday, January 8th, 2018. Come join for conversation and an assortment of refreshments.
