Homewood Friends Meeting, Baltimore
3107 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21218
Get your stomping shoes and singing hearts ready! Join us Friday, June 29 for Kabbalat Shabbat led by Rabbi Ariana Katz, followed by a vegetarian potluck.
This special Kabbalat Shabbat will honor our outgoing board leaders and incoming board leaders, the conversion of a Hinenu member, and the ordination of Rabbi Ariana!
Please volunteer to help setup or cleanup. Email [email protected]
We'll be meeting at Homewood Friends Meeting, on the 3rd floor in the Mott room. Homewood is accessible by ramp on the left of the building, and there is an elevator that will take you upstairs.
Free and open to all. All levels of singing experience welcome. We're going to bring our imperfect singing voices together to make a beautiful noise, and celebrate the (hopefully) restful end of a busy work week. This month we'll have more English songs and a collaborative service experience.
What should I expect?
An hour and a half service designed to ease out of the week and into a 25 hour day of rest. The service will use tunes that are familiar and unfamiliar and often taught first. Songs in Hebrew, English, Aramaic, Yiddish, and wordless tunes. Poetry and prayers in our handmade Hinenu prayerbook.
Never been to a service before, or not in a while? No worries! All levels of experience are welcome.
Who are we?
Hinenu is a new and growing community in Baltimore made of folks looking for a place to be, land, feel safe, and welcome.
